Progress and Change

This was once a quarter-block parking lot
And now it’s a steel garage

This was once a snack shop
And now it’s a fast food stop

This was once a '5 and dime' store
And now it is a superstore

Maybe progress is not
For the better
But rather, progress is for
The ever-increasing population.
