The birth of a baby
Is wonderful and magical
There’s joy throughout the world
A new life on earth

One can finally lay eyes
On what was hidden in the womb
A head and a torso
And four moving limbs

The sound of her cry
The blink of her eyes
The motion of her lips
And her half smile

She’s half mine and half yours
And she will be around for maybe a century
And we will know her forever,
For the rest of our lives.
